Supriya hails from India and is dual licensed to practice law in India and Ohio. After completing her education in India, she moved to the United States and graduated with an L.L.M. in International Business Transactions from the University of Denver, Colorado. Later she pursued her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of law.
In India, Supriya worked at a law firm in Mumbai for 3 years where she handled a wide range of civil litigation cases in various courts and Tribunals. She also assisted the firm with some corporate matters such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Land acquisition deals, and Incorporation of Companies. In addition to litigation, she also handled transactional work involving preparation of legal documents such as General and Special Power of Attorneys, Release Deeds, Deed of Gift, Deeds of Conveyance and Wills.
While at Akron law, Supriya interned with Judge Donald Nugent at the Federal Court in the Northern District Court of Ohio. She also took a clinical course at the SEED (Small Entrepreneur and Economic Development) Legal Clinic at Akron law. At the clinic, she gained hands on legal experience handling corporate work for emerging businesses in Northeastern Ohio. Supriya worked on projects like preparing operating agreements and release agreements for startups, advising on entity formation, and preparing an employee handbook for a new bakery business. She also presented a seminar at the Business School at Kent State University representing SEED clinic at Akron Law. Supriya graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in December 2023 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2024.
Supriya has acquired vocal training in Indian classical music and performed in local competitions and shows in India, so in her free time she enjoys singing. She also loves travelling, cooking, and meeting people with diverse cultural backgrounds. She is actively involved with several International student organizations at the University of Akron. She frequently volunteers and host activities for the organizations to help bring a sense of community and support for international students.
