Jim Mathews handles a wide range of civil litigation matters, including cases involving contract and business claims, insurance coverage and bad faith issues, as well as political subdivision, construction, employment and administrative law. As part of his practice, Jim is active in land use and land development cases, which involve diverse issues such as zoning, annexation and eminent domain. In addition, Jim represents clients in general business transactions, such as business formation and transfers.

Professional/Civic Activities

Jim serves on a number of community boards, including the Alliance Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Alliance Memorial Day Committee. He is also active with the Lexington Ruritan Club, has coached youth soccer at the travel level with the Alliance Futbol Club, and he is a member of Elks Lodge 467. Jim serves as a Trustee on the Lexington Township, Stark County, Board of Trustees, and he is a member of the Ohio and Stark County Township Associations.

Jim is a member of the American, Ohio State and Stark County Bar Associations, the Ohio Academy of Civil Trial Attorneys and Defense Research Institute.
