Mel L. Lute, Jr.

Mel's practice ranges from litigation and business formation/consultation and real estate law to national and international legal issues. He has represented a number of political subdivisions in litigation at both the state and federal court level. Mel continues to expand his practice to include representation of U.S. business concerns abroad, foreign concerns domestically, and immigration law.

Professional/Civic Activities

Mel is involved in a number of community youth activities in North Canton, Ohio. He serves as Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 12 and has coached baseball and soccer through the local YMCA. Mel is a Tae Kwon Do Master (5th Degree Black Belt) and operates the Tae Kwon Do program for the North Canton YMCA. In addition to serving as general counsel for the Ohio Tae Kwon Do Association, Mel is Chairman of the Law & Legislative Committee of the Pan American Tae Kwon Do Union and has represented clients before the World Tae Kwon Do Federation in Seoul, South Korea.

Mel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 6, 1965. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Miami University in 1987 where he attended on an Army National Guard scholarship. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law in 1990 where he served as both competitor and editor on the Moot Court Board. Upon completion of his service, Mel received an honorable discharge from the United States Army National Guard in 1989 at the rank of Sergeant. He currently resides in North Canton, Ohio, with his wife, Dawn, their two sons, and a newborn baby girl.
